In the 1970s the farm was run through dairy farming, but it didn't stop there. My owners said: "We need to specialize", and began producing the delicious Wunderhof Speck.
There was never really time to rest. There was always something to do. Whether farm holidays, direct marketing, or farmers' markets, my owners were there right from the start.
In 1990 they renovated the guest rooms and converted the attic. Over the years everything flourished, because they had so many great ideas for me.
In 1991 a great celebration took place on the farm with many guests: daughter Michaela found a husband who knew how to work hard in agriculture.
Soon after came the Striedner boys, three of them one after the other: first Thomas, then Sebastian, and in 2000 the youngest, Florian.
Bernhard, the son-in-law, was always hardworking and tireless. Above all, Noriker horse breeding is his great passion, yet he always found time to lend a hand.
After years of apprenticeship, the time had come: Franz initiated him into the secrets of Speck production. Ever since, they worked hand in hand, making Wunderhof Speck renowned across the valley.
In 2003 Franz retired and Roswitha took over the farm entirely. A few years later came another turning point, and I was handed down to younger hands.
In 2010 a new chapter of Wunderhof history was written: to my great joy, I remained in family hands. Now new owners manage me, with deep and heartfelt gratitude to the older generation.
On March 31, 2020, senior farmer Franz left us forever — still hard to comprehend. Wunderhof was always his sanctuary and home. Dear Franz, THANK YOU for everything; you will never be forgotten.
Today three generations live together under my roof in harmony. As the Wunderhof, I look forward to the future and wish young and old happiness and blessings.
